Francis Grenon has distinguished himself as a fixture in photography on the waves of Massachusetts' South Shore. A New Bedford native, Grenon has used Buzzards Bay as his canvas.

Starting as a wedding and portrait photographer in the 1980's, Grenon has widened his lens to capture exotic travel destinations, pop-culture celebrities, and yachting regattas which have become his specialty.

Mr.Grenon has had the honor of holding the title as "Official Event Photographer" for The Marion/Bermuda Race for five years and the Buzzards Bay Regatta for eight years. Other yachting events covered include The Newport to Bermuda Race, C420 North American Champoinships, J/105 & J/30 North Americans and various other regattas in Buzzards and Narragansett Bays.

Grenon also holds the position of Staff Photographer for Upscale Living Magazine. This role has taken him to the turquoise waters of Tahiti, the rolling vineyards of Napa Valley, and the grand canals of Italy.

In addition to Upscale Living Magazine, Mr.Grenon's photos have splashed the pages of SAIL, Sailing World, Cruising World, WindCheck magazine, SoCo, and many other regional and national publications. A photo of his was also used as the book cover for "J/Boats, Sailing to Success" (2005).

For this talented photographer whose dreams behind the lens began with seeing World War II fighter planes at an air show at the age of three, his dreams have truly taken flight.

Francis Grenon currently resides in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts with his wife Deborah, a director of sales for a national children's candy corporation. They have one daughter, Kasey, a Broadcast Journalism graduate of Emerson College in Boston.
